Obituary for Mozelle Martin Galvan

Mozelle Martin Galvan was born in Fulton Kentucky on July 2, 1935 to Booker T. Barbee Sir and Flory Lee Hilliard. She
was called home to be with the lord on April 13, 2020.
Mozelle lived in Fulton Kentucky until the family moved to Battle Creek Michigan and she attended Battle Creek Central.
Mozelle gave her life to Christ and joined Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church under leadership of Reverend Johnnie Taylor; she also joined the choir and was a member of the usher board of Battle Creek Michigan.
Mozelle was an employee at Leila Hospital and Veteran’s Administration. Upon moving to La Porte, Texas she joined another church New Jerusalem under leadership of the late Joe Lewis, where she joined the choir and the usher board.
When Mozelle retired from the VA Hospital, she became a personal caregiver for her community. She had received several outstanding awards and certification of appreciation.
Mozelle resided in Houston, Texas where she became a family member and was baptized by Reverend Prince Bryant Sr. on November 29, 1993 at the Church of God and Christ Anderson Memorial, later to be named Island of Hope where Mozelle became a Missionary. Mozelle Martin Evangelist, still under leadership Bishop Prince EW Bryant Sr. where she joined the choir and the usher board, also dedicated herself on the Nurse’s aide.
Mozelle had many enjoyable life experiences and loved celebrating the holidays with family and friends. She loved to cook and sing while praising the Lord.
Mozelle's heart was made of gold, not only did she care for her family and friends, but she also opened her home and heart for senior citizens of the community, and cared for anybody that needed her help no matter what age they were.
She was preceded in death by one son, Robert Lee Barbee, Sister Cordelia Young. 3 Bother: James, Walter, Cass Barbee.
She leaves to cherish: Fond Memories her daughters: Barbara (Lusiano) Garcia of Texas, Rebecca (Tony) Walker of Ohio, son Patrick J. Barbee of Texas. (Brothers: Booker Barbee of Michigan, Rudy Barbee of Ohio). 6 grandchildren, Lameeka Barbee, Gabino Garcia, Rigo Garcia, Natoya Finley, Divina Garcia, Dentrice Whitt; 6 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren, 1 God son and 1 Goddaughter. A host of nieces and nephews, a special care provider Marie Rodriguez and church members and friends all whom she dearly loved.
Mozelle wishes to be laid to rest beside her mother, in Battle Creek Michigan. Memorial service will be announced at a later date. Baxter 375 W Dickman, Battle Creek Michigan.
