Obituary for Nancy Jean Swickley (Davis)

Mrs. Nancy Jean Swickley, 74, of Battle Creek peacefully passed away Thursday December 24th, 2020 at Bronson Battle Creek Hospital after battling COVID.
Visitation will be held from 2:00 - 4:00 pm, on Saturday, January 9th, 2021 at Baxter Funeral and Cremation Services, with a private family celebration of life in the Spring.
She was born in Battle Creek on March 6th, 1946 to Milford Edwin and Iva Louise (Farman) Davis. She married Wesley Edward Swickley, from Pittsburgh, who was her beloved husband for 46 years until he preceded her in death in 2016.
Nancy graduated from Lakeview High School and worked for TransAmerica Insurance in Battle Creek. She told everyone, her most cherished life accomplishments, and one she dedicated her life to, was her children and grandchildren. She grew Roses, Iris and loved Daffodils and Lilac’s. She enjoyed building puzzles and in her later years lovingly spent time with family and her dog Precious. Those who truly knew Nancy and admired her so much for it, was for her selflessness.
Nancy is survived by her son and his wife, Wesley and Amy Swickley, her daughter and husband Julie and Jeff Knapper; Grandchildren, Kelsey, Brendon, Bailey, Brendan, Madeline and Aidan. Also, her sister and husband, Lynn and Tim Pfiester; their son Kevin and wife Jackie Davis, daughter Amber (Lawrence) Fleming and husband Jeff.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and a sister, Beverly Davis.
Nancy overcame all challenges she was faced with, recently before COVID was breast cancer. She is a survivor!
In remembrance of Nancy’s life, the family asks that any charitable donations in lieu of flowers, be made to Hope Lodge or the Betty Ford Breast Care Services Grand Rapids, MI.
