Obituary for Patrecia Dell Hoard (Gray)

Patrecia Dell Hoard, 78, of Battle Creek, Michigan, passed away on Friday, April 27, 2018, at Calhoun County Medical Care Facility. She was born on March 23, 1940, the daughter of Arthur O. Gray and Eloise (Williams) Gray.
Pat retired from Bill Knapp's after 20 plus years of service. After her retirement she became house mother with M.S.U. Gamma Phi Beta sorority house and mothered thousands of girls over 25 years. She volunteered for numerous organizations throughout her life, and had received many awards for her work in those organizations. Most of her work was in children and helping or benefiting them. She was always humble though; She did the work she did to benefit the future generations. But her proudest accomplishment was always being a house mother. She adored the years and all the girls. One year she even received her beloved dog, Oliver, as a Christmas gift from the girls. From then on, it was Pat and Oliver, in the house and always together. He participated in the magazine shoots and was a frequent sight on the calendars. He was her world and very first priority. She had also volunteered at sparrow hospital with Oliver as a therapy dog. Pat loved her family and her grandchildren. She loved to spend time with them when she could and adored the summers. She moved back to Battle Creek about 5 years ago and spent her last years loving her family.
Pat is survived by her two Sons, Wayne (Nancy) Hoard and Danny Hoard; six Grandchildren, Noah (Amy) Hoard, Patrick Hoard, Danny (Katie) Hoard II, Tracy (Nick) Cutler, Laura (Carl) Jones, Brian (Jessica) Savage, and several Great-Grandchildren; two Brothers, Art Gray and Lenord Gray; Sister, Ann (Orlo) Blake, and a host of other loving friends and family. She was preceded in death by her parents.
