Patricia Sue Thorson, 77, of Battle Creek, Michigan, passed away on Sunday, November 19, 2017 at Bronson Methodist Hospital. She was born on June 26, 1940, the daughter of Lavern Major and Marjorie (Metty) Smittendorf.
Pat was heavily involved in 4-H growing up. She showed black angus and had several Grand Champion and State Championships. Pat was the St. Joseph County Dairy Princess in 1957. She was a former member of the Order of the Eastern Star and a member of the Moose Lodge. Pat worked at Kellogg Community College as an administrative secretary for 10 years.
Pat is survived by her two Daughters, Robin (Don) Kinsley, and Jill Westra; Son, Eric Thorson; Granddaughter, Marissa Kinsley and her siblings Vicki and Lee. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Pat enjoyed reading in her down time. She loved to travel and she had been through all 50 states. The warmth she gave to those in her life will be missed dearly by all who knew her.
A memorial service will take place at a later date.
