Obituary for Patrick Wayne LaFleur
Patrick Wayne LaFleur, 87, of Battle Creek, Michigan, passed away on Wednesday, July 31, 2019 at The Legacy at The Oaks. He was born on October 16, 1931, the son of Harry Joseph LaFleur and Charlotte Myra (Byers) LaFleur.
Pat received his Bachelor Degree from Wayne State University. He attended and graduated from Michigan State University School of Osteopathic Medicine in 1973. He was the director of the Emergency Department at Detroit Osteopathic Hospital for 15 years before going into family medicine in Mount Clemens, MI. Pat owned and operated his own business for many years, Brickcrete Building Supply in Madison Heights, MI, before entering medical school in 1970.
Pat is survived by his Wife of 67 years, Shirley A. (Wunderlin) LaFleur; Children, Patrick M. (Cathy Cuykendall) LaFleur, Robert W. (Sandy) Rainer-LaFleur, Sharon S. (Rick) Kessler, Marcia A. (Jesse Camarillo) LaFleur; 3 Grandchildren, 7 Step-Grandchildren and 6 Great-Grandchildren; Brother, James L. LaFleur, who resides in California. He was preceded in death by his Parents and Brothers, Harry P. LaFleur, Michael T. LaFleur.
Pat loved spending time on the water; he could be out for hours fishing. He also loved his dogs. They were his faithful companions that all preceded him in death. His main passion in life however, was his family. He loved spending time with them, and watching them grow over the years.
Visitation will be held at the Baxter Funeral & Cremation Service, 375 W. Dickman Road, on Thursday August 1, 2019 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
Funeral services will be held at the Fausett Family Funeral Homes, 211 Arbutus Avenue, Manistique, MI 49854, on Saturday, August 3, 2019, 11:00 am with Pastor Paul Varoni officiating.
Interment will take place at the Hiawatha Cemetery in Manistique, MI.
