Paul E. VanDenberg, 88, formally of Battle Creek, Michigan, passed away on Saturday, January 18, 2020 at Stone Ridge Assisted Living in Bellevue. He was born on December 11, 1931, the son of Clarence Benjamin and Ruth Bernice (Field) VanDenberg.
Paul graduated from Marshall High School. After high school, Paul honorably served in the United States Air Force and the Air National Guard Reserves. Once returning home, he worked 30 years for the Battle Creek Postal Service as a Letter Carrier until he retired at the age of 55.
Paul is survived by his Wife, Carrie Jean VanDenberg; Children; Janice M. Hicks, Michael Paul (Meleah) VanDenberg, Vicki Lynn (Stacey) Bird-Jones, 5 Grandchildren, 3 Great-Grandchildren, Many Nieces and Nephews; Brother, Don (Marion) VanDenberg, Sister, Phyllis Barbee. He was preceded in death by his Parents and Two Sisters, Virginia VanDenberg and Marjorie Travis.
Paul enjoyed playing cards, bowling, camping, traveling, hunting and fishing. He was very active serving as Deacon and on the board of the formerly known First Christian Church on B Drive North in Battle Creek, and loved spending time with his church family. He will truly be missed by his family and friends.
A memorial service will be held at the Bedford Bible Church, 21964 Bedford Road North., Battle Creek, MI 49017, starting at 1:00 pm on Saturday January 25, 2020 with a luncheon to follow.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
