Phillip M. Smith, 68, of Battle Creek, Michigan, passed away on Saturday, November 21, 2020. He was born on March 10, 1952, the son of the late James M. Smith and Etha Evelyn (Harris) Smith. He attended school in Battle Creek and graduated from Harper Creek High School, Class of 1970. Phillip worked at Kellogg's for over 25 years. He was then an occupational therapist at Oaklawn Hospital for 19 years. He was a member of the Urbandale Seventh Day Adventist Church.

Phillip is survived by his wife, Marsha (Whitney) Smith; sister, Marilyn (Vern) Suntken; two daughters, Kellie (Joseph) Taylor and Georgina Smith; son, Jeremy Shay (Tiffany) Smith and ten grandchildren, Wyatt, Seth, Irie, Olivia, Trenton, Alexandria, Chloe, Caydence, Chase and Chandler. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Thomas Smith.

Phillip enjoyed bowling, golfing, hunting and spending time with his grandchildren. He spent time four wheeling at his cabin in Baldwin. When he was younger, he was a member of both the Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts of America.

The funeral service will be held at the Urbandale Seventh Day Adventist, 20440 N. Bedford Rd., on Monday, November 30, 2020, at 12:00 pm. The family will receive friends 2 hours prior to the service at the church. Interment will take place in the Bosworth Cemetery. Memorial contributions in Phillip's name may be made to the Seventh Day Adventist Church.
