Obituary for Phyllis Margine Brown (Fletcher)

Phyllis Margine Fletcher Virgil-Brown, 86, was born September 23, 1935. She passed away on October 15, 2021, in the loving home of her granddaughter Charro Virgil Hollins surrounded by family.

Phyllis attended Sexton High School in Lansing Michigan. She was active in church and her community. Phyllis worked for Community Hospital and worked at Leila Hospital in sterile processing. She remained under the Pastoral Care of Reverend Timothy Troxler of Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church. One of her favorite activities was singing in the Kellogg Eclectic Chorale and Echoes of Grace. She liked traveling, dancing, playing cards, fishing and skating. However, her all-time favorite life adventure was the love she had for her family and friends.

She is survived by her Children, Debra Ann (Garland) Settle, Robben Marie (Darryll) Thomas, Glenn Anthony (Vanessa Renee) and Felica Virgil; and a host of grandchildren, great and great great grandchildren for Truly the Loving Virgil Legacy shall continue.

Phyllis was proceeded in death by her Grandparents, Glenn and Martha Fletcher; Mother, Ora Hayes; Step Father, Alan Hayes; Children, Johnny Virgil, Ernest Virgil Jr., Clarence Virgil and Donna (Virgil) Harris; First Husband of 31 years, Ernest Virgil Sr.; Second Husband, Nathaniel Lee Brown Jr.; Siblings, Leroy Nelson, Theodore Walker, Melvin Walker and Mavis Gratz; Best Friend, Iris Mae Shelton, and Granddaughter, Karniesha Shawan Virgil, and Grandson, Ernest (Doc) Virgil III.

Per Phyllis’ wishes, there will be no services held.
