Obituary for Pinkey Parker

Pinkey Parker, 81, of Battle Creek, Michigan went to be with The Lord on Sunday October 18, 2020 at Bronson Battle Creek Hospital in Battle Creek, Michigan.

Pinkey was born on January 12, 1939 in Boyd, Alabama to the late Jerry and Josephine Parker. She accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Magnolia Church in Mississippi. She worked on the farm and went to the 9th grade in York, Alabama. She moved to Battle Creek, Michigan in 1973. She worked as a cook at Buckingham Inn for 30 years and Waterfront Restaurant as a cook for 5 years. After retirement, Pinky did Home Care Aide for many people. Pinkey loved cooking and talking on the phone.

Pinkey was an active member of Holy Light Missionary Baptist Church for over 25 years. At one time she sang in the Senior Choir and was in the kitchen ministry until her heath began to fail. Pinkey loved her church family.
She leaves to cherish her loving memories, one son, Floyd Parker of Battle Creek, Michigan; two grandchildren, Keosha Parker, of Atlanta Georgia, and Devin Parker of Ann Arbor, Michigan, and an ex-wife, Kimberly Parker of Atlanta, Georgia; one great- granddaughter, Kyairah Parker, of Atlanta, Georgia; two sisters, Earlie B. Parker Hopson of Dekalb, Mississippi and Sadie Parker Ivory of Meridian, MS; one brother, Pierice Parker and his friend Nell of Birmingham, Alabama;. a niece whom she loved and respected as a daughter, Beatrice (Johnnie) Jimison of Lauderdale, Mississippi and a host of nieces, nephews, special friends, and her Holy Light Church Family. She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Coot and Isaac Parker.

She will truly be missed by her family, friends, and everyone that knew and loved her.

The funeral service will be held at Baxter Funeral & Cremation, at 11:00 am on Saturday, October 31, 2020, with the Reverend J.C. Oliver officiating; with the family receiving from 9:00 to 11:00 am.
