Obituary for Ralph Allen Barker

Ralph Allen Barker, age 61, of Battle Creek, MI passed away Tuesday, March 18, 2014 after a lengthy illness. He was born July 29, 1952 to parents James M. Barker and Norma Bouzan. In his youth he enjoyed being free to travel via foot and thumb, from one side of the country to the other, then telling everyone about his many experiences. One in particular was being at Woodstock, his prized adventure. Ralph was an animal lover. Over the years he owned a buffalo, a mule, cats, dogs, birds and horses. He enjoyed going on trail rides. Ralph never met a stranger, trusted everyone, and would do anything for anyone. His lifetime theme was, “I did it my way,” and would want to be remembered that way. Ralph was manager of Old Orchard Campground until ill health forced him to retire. Ralph leaves behind his mother, Norma B. Barker; sisters, Sally (Rick) Hunt, Martha B. (Craig) Purvis; aunt, Connie Snyder; numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Melania Barker.
