Obituary for Randolph A. "Randy" Greenway

Randolph “Randy” Arthur Greenway, 74 passed away, February 8, 2021, surrounded by his family. He was born November 17, 1946 in Battle Creek, Michigan, to Marcus and Esther Greenway.

Randy graduated from Lakeview High School in 1964. Upon graduation he served for two years in the U.S. Army. Randy retired from Union Pump Company after 48 years. During his time at Union Pump Company, he started his employment as a machinist, but found his true calling as a machine repairman. He was who could fix anything, no matter what it was and he enjoyed fixing everything for family and friends.

Randy was previously married to Sonja Georgoff. They had two daughters, Angela Greenway-Morgan and Bethany Greenway-Viall.

Randy met the love of his life, Frances Gail Brown, and they were married July 1, 1990. Randy and Gail enjoyed taking many cruises together, and with their children. They really enjoyed traveling and spending time with family. He was the happiest spending time with family and friends. He enjoyed watching his children and grandchildren play sports and attending dance recitals. Randy also enjoyed bowling, playing softball and golf. Randy and Gail were avid fans of Alabama College Football.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Marcus and Esther Greenway; brothers, Richard, Rodger, Ronald; sister, Joanie Vaughn-Blaskie; stepson, Robbie Fortner; son-in-law, Gavin Viall, and granddaughter, Shyanne Crane.

Randy is survived by his wife, Frances Gail Greenway; daughters, Angela (James) Morgan, Bethany (Billy Crane) Viall; stepdaughters, Rhonda (Matt) Eishen, and Robin Fortner; brother, and sister-in-law, Robert and Paula Greenway; sisters-in-law, Sheri Greenway and Judy Greenway; brother-in-law, Ken Blaskie; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Brinda and Donald Konkle, Tammie and Tony Garber, Tina and J.J. Owens, Tonya and Daniel Cole; grandchildren, Alyssa, Courtney, Austin, Taylor, Niatalia, Xavier, Zandin, William (April), Christopher (Kerri), Cody, Kimberly, Colton (Elizabeth), Grace, Joshua, Lynda (Mark) and Mecala; 5 great-grandchildren, and many special cousins, nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be February 18, 2021 from 1:00pm to 6:00pm at Baxter Funeral and Cremation, 375 W. Dickman Rd., Battle Creek. The funeral service will be held on February 19, 2021 at 12:00 pm with family receiving friends an hour prior to the service. Due to Covid-19 pandemic restrictions, the service is for family only with masks and social distancing required. The service will be live streamed via our website www.baxterfuneral.com. Interment will be held at Memorial Park Cemetery.
