Obituary for Renee Sandra Lewis

On Tuesday December 11, 2018, Sandra Renee Lewis who is a loving mother of two children went to be with the Lord at home surrounded by her loving family at the young age of 54 years old.

Sandra was born June 28, 1964, in Greenville, Alabama to the late Julia A. (Hall) Lewis and Terry W. Lewis Sr. The Lewis family moved to Michigan in 1966 to begin anew life. Sandra attended Battle Central and graduated in 1982. She enjoyed spending time with her family as well as her 10 grandchildren. Playing bingo, fishing, taking care of the elderly as well as knitting was part of her favorite past time. She also had a huge passion for music and signing which she first discovered s a young women when she joined the local gospel group called the “The Taylor Singers”. Sandra had a huge heart for helping those who were in need of care, which she fulfilled as a CENA at Care Community Asst. Living formerly known as Dosca Home located in Battle Creek, MI for 9 plus years. Sandra is well known for her infectious laugh, her sense of humor, warm giving heart and her witty but feisty personality. Sandra was active in her local church Freedom Faith Worship Center located in Battle Creek MI until her recent illness this past year. Sandra loved the lord so much so, she re-dedicated her life in 2015.

Sandra was preceded in death by her mother Julia A. (Hall) Lewis in 2000 and her father Terry W. Lewis Sr. in 2015.

She is survived by her two children, her oldest daughter Tashombi Vines and her 5 children of Battle Creek, MI. Leonard (Jerrica) Smith and their 5 children of Battle Creek MI; her five sisters; one brother, Maryland (Ray) Reid-Holmes, Melissa (Laurence) Coy, Rosie Lewis, Jeanette Lewis, Elizabeth (Windell) White all of Battle Creek MI. and Terry (Rena) Lewis of Georgia; her long-time special friend George Bell, along with a host of aunts, uncle, cousins, nieces, nephew and friends.
