Obituary for Richard Bruce Campbell

Richard "Dick" Bruce Campbell, 82, of Battle Creek, Michigan, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 31, 2019 at The Oaks in Battle Creek. He was born on May 24, 1937, to Merle and Frances (Palmer) Campbell.
Dick graduated from Battle Creek Central High School. After high school, he proudly and honorably served his country in the United States Navy in San Diego, California. After his service in the Navy, Dick and his wife, Mary Jo, moved the family back to Battle Creek. Dick had his own radio show on Sunday morning through WBCK, where he could promote his love for Barbershop singing, which he participated in. He also loved refereeing, umpiring and coaching his son's softball teams. He also enjoyed swimming, tinkering with his hands, and radio controlled airplanes. The family took many camping trips when the children were young, which created many happy and everlasting memories. Above everything else, Dick's passion was his family. His love was for his Children, Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren. He will be truly missed by his family, friends and all those that knew him.
Dick is survived by his 3 children, Richard, Jr (Nancy); Patrick (Doreen) and Carol, Sister, 7 Grandchildren, 2 Step-Grandchildren, 9 Great Grandchildren, his Sister, Jackie Wellington, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his Parents, Wife, Mary Jo, and Sister, Pat Clark.
Memorial services will be held on Friday, November 8th, at 11:00 am at Baxter Funeral and Cremation, 375 W. Dickman Road, Battle Creek, MI. After the service, there will be a ceremony at Fort Custer where Dick will be laid to rest.
