Obituary for Robert Thurston Dennis

Robert Thurston Dennis, 51, of Battle Creek, passed away unexpectedly on June 12th, 2022 in Battle Creek, Michigan.
A private family memorial will be held for Rob’s celebration of life.

Rob was born in Battle Creek, Michigan to Robert Wesley Dennis and Judith Ann (Norrod) Pierce on December 25th, 1970. When he was born, his older sister, Christine (Dennis) Frees, thought he was the best Christmas present she could ask for! Rob attended grade school in Bellevue, Michigan. From a young age Rob’s ability to make friends with many was evident. His mother once received a phone call from his elementary teacher requesting that she ask Rob to wear his coat at school. Apparently, earlier that day, Rob had decided he didn’t want to wear his coat to recess and all his friends decided to follow suite. The teacher, however, was not amused. Rob had a great sense of humor and was also an avid athlete, particularly with football. He played football all the way through high school and served as the Running Back on the Bellevue High School football team.

Rob had three sons that he loved dearly and was very proud of the men they have become. He loved dogs, enjoyed spending time with his family, and was always up to try new adventures. He was a caring man that was always willing to lend a helping hand when needed. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.

Rob is preceded in death by his father, Robert Wesley Dennis.

Rob is survived by his sons: Lance (Kimberlynn) Hayward, Seth (Chris) Dennis, and Evan Dennis; Sister, Christine (Robin) Frees; Brother, Nicholas Pierce ; Mother, Judy (Norrod) Pierce; Grandsons, Oliver Bartholomew, Owen Bartholomew, and Luke Hayward; Nieces, Jennifer (Andrew) Burgess and Heather (Roy) Ugianskis; and Great-Nieces and Nephews: Mackenzie Burgess, Kimber Romanowski, Averyana Burgess, Caylen Ugianskis, Grayson Burgess and Logan Romanowski.

Cremation arrangements are by Baxter Funeral & Cremation Services.
