Robert L. "Bob" Hoersten, 66, of Battle Creek, Michigan, went to be with the Lord on Monday, February 26, 2018 at Glenn Arbor Hospice Residence surrounded by his family. He was born in Van Wert, OH on March 4, 1951, the son of Isidore Hoersten and Mildred (Schulte) Hoersten.
Bob graduated from Bowling Green State University with the Class of 1973.
Bob is survived by his Wife of 46 years - Vickie D. (Maxson) Hoersten of Battle Creek, Michigan; Two Daughters, Megan R. Hoersten, Kristin Savage (David); Son, Joshua R. Hoersten; 4 brothers, Jim, Jack (Sandy), Tom, and Mike (Liz); and 1 sister, Mary Ann all of Van Wert, OH; and 6 Grandchildren, Aaron, Ethan, Caleb, and Leia Hoersten, and Caden, and Kyler Savage. He was preceded in death by his Father, Isidore Hoersten, Mother, Mildred Hoersten and 1 brother, Bill and 1 sister, Alice.
Bob was a very avid collector of model trains and tractors. Bob devoted his life to God, and served him for his entire life. He praised God and thanked him for all the blessings that he had in his life. He loved spending time with his family, and loved making memories with them in his short time on earth.
Bob was employed by Eaton Corporation for 37 ½ years.
Visitation will be held at the Baxter Funeral & Cremation Service, 375 W. Dickman Road, Battle Creek, MI 49037 on 2/28/2018 from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm and at Brickner Funeral Home, 419 S. Washington Street, Van Wert, OH 45891 on 3/2/2018 from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm with service following on 3/3/2018 at 11am.
Interment will take place in the Woodland Cemetery in Van Wert, OH.
