Robert Earl McNair transitioned this life on Tuesday, May 5, 2020. Robert was born August 31, 1955 to the union of James McNair and Beatrice Malone.
Robert was educated in the Battle Creek Public School system. Following graduation from Battle Creek Central High School in 1973, Robert enlisted in the United States Marine Corps.
After an honorable discharge from the military, Robert was gainfully employed with several companies (Kellogg's, Eaton, UPS, VA, and the United States Postal Service). He retired from the Postal Service in 2010 as a Postmaster, after 35 years of employment.
Robert accepted Jesus Christ as his personal savior and was baptized on the profession of his faith. He was an active member of the Unity Baptist Church.
Robert was a " people person". As a result of his outgoing nature and jovial demeanor, he never met a stranger. He was committed to family and loved spending time with his grandkids. He was also quire the fashionista...everything (the outfit and the shoes) was color coordinated and matching.
Robert was survived by his wife of 38 years, Shirley McNair, one daughter, Shylandia of Denver, CO, four sons, Kevens and Eric of Battle Creek, MI, Shaun/Slice (Angie) of Fort Wayne, IN, and Robert of Denver, CO, 15 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild, one sister, Ann Williams (Frank) of White Plains, NY, 3 aunts, Dorothy Williams (Killeen, TX), Clarice Harris (Romulus, MI) and Lucille Lee (Bernard) of Natchez, MS, and a host of nieces. nephew, cousins and friends.
