Obituary for Robert Benjamin Moore

Robert Benjamin Moore was born June 14, 1946 in Sprott, Alabama to loving parents Mattie Louise and Frederick James Moore.
He moved with family to Chicago in 1954, before settling in Battle Creek, MI in 1960 where he attended and graduated from Battle Creek Central High School.
In 1965, he married high school sweetheart, Genola E. Johnson. Their union brought about 4 children before ending 10 years later. Throughout his life, Robert fathered 6 children.
Robert was also married to Suzan Mason from 1984 – 2008, he never remarried.
Robert was a carpenter by trade but worked as a machinist at Eaton Corporation and as a processing operator at Kellogg’s until he retired in January 2000.
Robert was extremely direct, caring, witty and multi-talented. He was part of a singing group with his brothers and close friends called the Tiki’s in his younger years. He was a talented seamster, artist, and he enjoyed reading and reciting poetry but his greatest passion was spreading the word of his loving father Jehovah. He was baptized in 1974 and active in the ministry until his last days.
Robert departed this world Saturday, September 10, 2022 at 10:41pm. He spent his last few months surrounded by close friends and family. There was no doubt, Robert knew he was loved dearly.
Robert was preceded in death by (father) Frederick James Moore, (mother) Mattie Louise Moore - Fields, (step father) Wesley Fields, (sisters) Kizzie, Jimmie and Mattie Ruth and (brothers) Sampson, Frederick and Freeman Moore and (son) Troy Lavon Moore.
He is survived by his older brother Christopher (Sam) Moore and youngest brother Anthony Fields. His loving children Robin (Tracey) Moore, Tiffany Moore (Kelvin) Reed, Quincy Jones, Tammi Moore and Vanesha (Mark) Nunnally. Grand children Quinton and Karissa Jones and great grand-children, Brayden, Dior and Diya Jones and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and spiritual brothers and sisters.
