Ronald Bruce Baker, Jr., age 53, passed into God's arms on September 24, 2019. He was born on March 23, 1966 in Battle Creek, son of Bruce Baker and Wanda and Mark Owens. Ron was a star football player for the Springfield Rams and a graduate from Springfield High School in 1984. After graduation, Ron proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy and afterward, was a taxi driver and worked in delivery service. Throughout his life, Ron's devotion was to God and at every opportunity enjoyed spreading the love of God to others. He had collected an extensive library of music from various artists throughout his lifetime and enjoyed listening to and talking about his collection with others. Ron was an artist in poetry and would spend many hours composing his thoughts onto paper. He also enjoyed puzzles, coloring and playing chess, and was an avid New England Patriots fan.
Family was important to Ron and he enjoyed every moment he had with his loved ones. He is survived by his sisters. Lori Perez (Pete), Trena Johnson and Carla Fisher (Joey); his Stepfather, Mark Owens; his nieces and nephew and great-nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.
A memorial service will be held at the Baxter Funeral Home on Sunday, October 6, 2019 from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm.
