Russell James Boland, 85, of Springfield, Michigan, went to be with the Lord on Monday, March 7, 2016 at the Calhoun County Medical Care Facility. He was born in St. Paul, MN on May 23, 1930, the son of the late Frank and Stella (Kuhn) Boland.
Russ attended schools in St. Paul and then served in the US Army. He served at Ft. Custer, Percy Jones Hospital and was responsible for delivering supplies to the Army Rest Home. He was employed at Eaton Mfg. for 33 years until retiring in 1983.
Russ is survived by his Son: Ronald (Cindie) Boland of Augusta, MI; Daughter: Diane Allgaier of Springfield, MI; Grandsons: Jeffrey Boland of Los Angeles, CA and Jamie (Denise) Boland of Osceola, IN; Great Grandchildren: Kennedy & Cassidy Boland; Brother: Robert Boland of Minneapolis, MN and many nieces & nephews.
He was preceded in death by his Parents; his Wife: Frances L. Boland; Brother: Donald Boland; Special Sister-in-Law: Joy Bennett and Mother-in-Law: Mary E. Templeton.
Russell enjoyed music, music events of all kinds, especially gospel. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren & great grandchildren. He was formerly a member of First Wesleyan Church.
