Obituary for Russuel W. Chivis
Russuel William Chivis, 74, of Sherwood, Michigan, passed away on Sunday, December 20, 2020. He was born on May 9, 1946, the son of the late Ruben William Chivis and Anna Grace (Malazzo) Malazzo. Russuel was a Tribal Member Nottawesippi Huron Band of the Pottawatomi.
Russuel is survived by his wife, Joyce Ann (Grogan) Chivis; sister, Rosemarie (Joel) TePastte; brother-in-law, Rodney Lanning; two stepsons, Steve Grogan and Richard Davis; two nieces, Sara R. Moore and Heather TePastte Baumgartner; three nephews, Eric Joel TePastte, Devyn B. TePastte and Scott A. Lanning and many cousins in the Grand Rapids and Detroit area. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Christine Ann Lanning.
In accordance with Russuel’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a private graveside service will take place in the Bradley Indian Mission Cemetery in Wayland, Michigan.
