Obituary for Sabu Oscar Cowan

Sabu Oscar Cowan entered the world through the union of Clarence and Marguerite Cowan on Sept 22,1942 in Chicago, Illinois.

Sabu attended Morgan Park High School in Chicago IL and went on to serve 2 years in the United States Army, stationed in Okinawa, Japan

Sabu was a graduate from Battle Creek Central High school earning his GED in 1994. Sabu was a family man who supported his family by working for The City of Battle Creek Dept of Sewers.

Proverbs 18;22 states ,The man who finds a wife finds a treasure and receives favor from God.

Sabu found his treasure when he married Cheryl Gwillim on Aug 25, 1971.Three daughters were born of this union.

Sabu was preceded in death by his parents Clarence and Marguerite Cowan, sisters- Clarice Cowan, Cora Norman, Marguerite Cowan, and brother Clarence Cowan Jr.

Left to cherish his memories are his wife of 50 years Cheryl Cowan, daughters -Nacole Olds (Jerry), Sharera Cowan and Misty Cowan all of Battle Creek MI.
Granddaughters, Jordan Cowan-Fisher and Jaivyn Cowan-Olds (both of Battle Creek MI). Brothers Michael Cowan (Evelyn) South Holland IL , Stephen Cowan (Denise) Palm Bay FL,
James Cowan CA. He also leaves behind a host of nieces ,nephews, cousins and friends.

Sabu's time with us was peaceful all the way to the end, he now rests in comfort with the Lord. The family would like to express a special thanks to the staff at Bronson hospital, Hospice and Baxter Funeral home. Cremation has taken place at Baxter's Funeral and Cremation. We will have a life celebration in the near upcoming months.
