Obituary for Sandra Carter

Sandra "Sandie" Carter, 57 of Springfield, MI passed away on September 16th, 2020 at the University of Michigan Hospital, Ann Arbor. Sandie was born in Kalamazoo, MI on October 19th, 1962 to Shirley Hibbard and Edwin Horn. She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Teresa Horn, Mother and Father in law, William J. and Alice Irene Carter. Sandie graduated from Battle Creek Central High School and worked for the USPS for almost 20 years.

On June 29th, 1984 she married the love of her life and soul mate Christopher Carter who survives. Sandie is also survived by a daughter, Amanda Carter of Springfield, MI; son, Christopher (Allison) Carter of Battle Creek, MI; special granddaughters, Dajah and Layla Carter; step-grandson, Collin and a baby on the way; sisters, Deb (Willie) Doolittle of Athens, MI and Patty (John) Mathias of Lakewood CO; special nieces, Lindsey, Elise, Hannah, Katy, and Izzabella; nephew, Haedyn; as well as aunts; uncles; brothers-in-law, Randy, Scott, Mark, Lance, Jason and sister-in-law, Jenny and their spouses, and many more. Sandie is also survived by her best friend of 40 years, Teri Hartung and special friend Paige Perry.

Sandie enjoyed woodworking, doing arts and crafts, painting, scrapbooking, decorating and talking on the phone. She spent nearly every day with her grandbabies Dajah and Layla and enjoyed teaching them how to cook, do crafts and plant flowers. They lovingly called her "Maga" (Most Amazing Grandma Always). She was very excited about the new addition to the family due in March. She would call herself "The luckiest woman alive" being married to her husband Chris. They just celebrated their 36th wedding anniversary.

She will be sorely missed by her family and friends. Cremation is taking place and a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
