Obituary for Scott Leonard Rivette

Scott Leonard Rivette, 44, of Battle Creek, Michigan, passed away on Sunday, October 16, 2022 at his home. He was born on October 1, 1978 in Saginaw, MI.

Scott was a man of many nicknames - he gave them freely and received several himself. He quickly connected with people due to his quirky sense of humor and infectious laugh. Once connected, people developed deep friendships with Scott, and learned much from him. He did what he loved as a job - playing cards, and making people smile. His passion for U of M football & golf was well-known, and strengthened his friendships. His passing leaves a big hole in many peoples’ hearts, and he will be deeply missed. Scott attended Bay City Central High School and moved around the country before landing in Battle Creek, MI to be a poker dealer at Firekeepers Casino. He was preceded in death by his father, Leonard Rivette (2012) and his mother, Kathy Rivette (2014). He leaves behind his three sisters and six nephews Sherry Sauer (Russ), Dylan & Jackson, Shelly Rostron (Tom), Alex & Andy and Julie Groya (Keith), Emerson & Leo.

Memorials may be made to: Humane Society or Calhoun County Animal Shelter.
A private family service will be held at a later date.
