Obituary for Sharon Lynne Stanton

Sharon Lynne (Johnson) Stanton, 68, of Battle Creek, died Thursday, March 3, 2022, peacefully at home. She was born on December 17, 1953, in Battle Creek, the daughter of Archable and Alcinda Johnson. She graduated from Bellevue High School in 1971. She later earned an Associates Degree from Albright College.
She married Bernard M. Stanton on February 6, 1971 in Battle Creek, MI.
Together, Sharon and Bernard created a family of their own and raised three children together: Bernisa, Eric, and Clorinda. Sharon had such a generous soul, that she opened her home up to create an Adult Foster Care Home. Sharon started Eastside A.F.C. Home in 1983, and she continued this business for the last 39 years.
Sharon devoted her life to God at Restoration Life Church, where she praised and learned about the Lord for several years. Sharon loved attending services and helping with child care every Sunday at the church. Sharon was a member of The American Business Women’s Association, and she was also a member of the Cereal City Goldwing Riders. She loved riding in the sidecar of Bernard’s motorcycle, she loved the feeling of wind in her hair, and not knowing where the road may take her. Sharon enjoyed watching Nascar, bowling, trips to the beach, gardening her favorite yellow roses, camping, traveling, and spending time with her grandchildren. Sharon took the most pride in her role of being a grandma, it would be an understatement to say that Sharon adored her two granddaughters, Clorissa Hall and Maddison Beene, and granddog, Maggie. Sharon always looked forward to ice cream runs with her two granddaughters and Maggie, in the Volkswagen convertible on warm summer days. She also loved taking her two granddaughters to church services, and to the yearly Tulip Festival, in Holland.
Sharon was the most selfless, funniest, adventurous, and spunky person you would ever meet. To know Sharon, was to love Sharon. To say she will be missed is an understatement.
Sharon is survived by her husband Bernie Stanton, daughters, Bernisa Mills and Clorinda Beene, two granddaughters, Clorissa Hall and Maddison Beene, and sisters, Lisa Woods and Marjorie Johnson.
She is preceded in death by a Son, Eric Stanton, in 1991; parents Archable & Alcinda Johnson, and sister, Shirley Johnson/Mermica.
