Obituary for Sharon Kay Treadwell

Sharon Kay Treadwell of Battle Creek, Michigan, passed away August 11, 2019, at the age of 76. Sharon was born August 1, 1943, to Sarah Ann (Baker) Kidder and Harold F. Kidder. She worked as secretarial support at The Federal Center of Battle Creek while attending her Junior and Senior years in high school. Sharon also worked in the law office of Russell Conroy, at Clark Equipment in the engineering department, and in the management office for Battle Creek Country Club for 25 years. Sharon married Don Gilbert Treadwell on July 1, 1961.

Sharon is survived by her husband Donald Treadwell; daughters, Cynthia Treadwell-Brown and Kristi Lynn (Treadwell) Masten (Kevin); grandchildren; Maxwell Dyker Brown, Hope Treadwell Brown, William Oliver Brown, Jackson Ellsworth Masten, and Lucille Renee Masten; sister, Ima Jeanne (Kidder) Shawver (Monte R. Shawver). She was preceded in death by her parents, Sarah Ann (Baker) Kidder and Harold F. Kidder, and her brother, Harold Eugene Kidder.

Sharon loved mastering all crafts, especially quilting, knitting and cross-stitch and was a wonderful teacher of these arts to her friends and family. Her biggest love was family and friends and spending time with her grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by her nieces and nephews.

The memorial service will be held at the Baxter Funeral & Cremation Service, 375 W. Dickman Road, on Saturday, August 17, 2019, 3:00 pm, with the family receiving friends an hour before the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Sharon’s name to the Humane Society of South Central Michigan. Arrangements entrusted to Baxter Funeral & Cremation Service.
