Obituary for Shirley J. Gurnee
Shirley J. Gurnee, 73, of Battle Creek, Michigan, passed away on Saturday, December 21, 2019. She was born on November 16, 1946, in Lansing, Michigan, the daughter of Barney Frederick Tallent and Leoma Elizabeth (Hill) Tallent. She enjoyed shopping and playing bingo. Shirley was loved by many and will be missed by all.
Shirley is survived by her children, Robin Gurnee, Sherry Bennett, Norma-Jean Rosiek, and Marshall Gurnee; two sisters, Vickie Tallent and Tammy Dollaway; two brothers, Joseph Tallent and Gary Tallent; 17 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and daughter, Leoma Ramsey.
In accordance with Shirley's wishes, cremation has taken place. The memorial service will be held at the Baxter Funeral & Cremation, 375 W. Dickman Rd. Battle Creek, on Monday, December 30, 2019, at 1:00 pm, with the family receiving friends one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Shirley's name may be made to Victory Life Church.
