Obituary for Shirley A. Taylor
Shirley Ann (McLiechey) Taylor, of Battle Creek, Mich., passed away Saturday, March 20, 2021. Shirley was born Jan. 24, 1941, to Thomas McLiechey Jr. and Oleda McLiechey in Battle Creek.
She was a descendant of Sojourner Truth.
Shirley was a loving woman, who cared deeply for her family. She was full of life and always said something to make you laugh. Throughout her life, she enjoyed spending time with her siblings, listening to music and playing cards with them.
Shirley leaves to cherish her memory her daughters, Marva Glass of Arizona, Roxanne Taylor, Latia (Carlos) Williams of Battle Creek, Michigan; sons, Johnny Taylor of Mackinac Island, and Raymond Taylor of Battle Creek; sisters, Doris Cochran, Pat Brooks and Phyllis McLiechey; brother, Thomas (Uncle Wish) McLiechey; 12 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews. Shirley was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Michael (Uncle Mike) McLiechey.
Shirley will be forever in our thoughts and hearts.
In accordance with Shirley's wishes, cremation has taken place and a family memorial service will take place at a later date.
