Obituary for Stanley Ernest Walker
Stanley Ernest Walker, 91, of Fulton, MI, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 20, 2023 at his home.
Stanley was born on January 4, 1932 in Graysville, Tennessee. His family moved to Michigan in the 1940’s where Stanley eventually bought a farm in Athens, shortly before marrying Catherine Bodell of Battle Creek on June 5, 1965. He supplemented his income by working part time for Battle Creek Adventist Hospital.
After retiring back to Tennessee in 1996, Stan and Cathy returned to Michigan in 2000. In 2001 he took a retirement job, which he really enjoyed, at Omni Community Credit Union in Battle Creek, MI, retiring from there in 2019.
Stan was a Seventh-Day Adventist Christian and shared the 3 Angels' Messages from Revelation 14 as often as he could.
He is survived by his wife, Catherine Walker; his daughter, Angela (Roland) Swanson of Lincoln, NE; his son, Stephen (Naghielly) Walker of East Leroy, MI; two grandchildren, Rebecca (Cameron) Pottle and Andrew Swanson.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Elsie Walker; his sisters, Genevieve Clymer, Eloise Evans, and Velma Boyd; and his brothers, Paul Walker and Gene Walker.
Per his wishes, Stan will be cremated and his ashes will be buried at Burr Oak Cemetery in Athens, MI.
There will be a private graveside ceremony.
