Obituary for Stephen Ronald Marinch
Stephen Ronald Marinch, 83 of Battle Creek, MI past peacefully with his family by his side on August 20th, 2022.
Born and raised in Martin, PA. Graduated in 1956 from Masontown Senior High as president of his class.
Steve served in the US Army from 1957 to 1959 and was stationed at Fort Knox Kentucky.
After his military service, he lived and worked in Washington, D.C. where he met the love of his life, Florence Peelish and they married in 1962 in Mitchellville, Virginia. They moved to Battle Creek, Michigan in 1962 where Steve worked and retired from the Defense Logistics Services Center as a computer programmer & analyst.
Steve will be remembered as a kind person, loving husband, wonderful father and grandfather. Steve was a sports enthusiast who enjoyed golfing, traveling, camping, bird watching, reading and spending time with his family and friends. He enjoyed square dancing and was a member of the Sundown Squares.
He is reunited in heaven with his mother Mildred Gustafson of Melvindale, MI, his son Michael of Battle Creek and sister Linda DeMink of Melvindale, MI.
He is survived by his wife, Florence, sister Carol Russell of South Lyons, MI, sons Ronald of Phoenix, Christopher of Las Vegas and two granddaughters, Kara and Nicole of Las Vegas.
A rosary service will be held at St. Jerome Catholic Church, 229 Collier Road on Friday August 26, 2022 at 12:00 noon.
A funeral mass will be held at the St. Jerome Catholic Church on Friday, August 26, 2022 at 1:00 pm with Father Christopher Ankley officiating.
His remains will be laid to rest at Fort Custer National Cemetery, Augusta, MI.
Interment at Ft. Custer National Cemetery
