Obituary for Steven Bascay Phillips

Steven Bascay Phillips, 61, of Battle Creek, Michigan, passed away on Saturday, December 25, 2021 peacefully at home. He was born on September 12, 1960, the son of Virgil D. and Judith M. Phillips.

Steve graduated from Harper Creek High School. During his time in high school he was active in swim and dive, baseball and football and was very proud of his accomplishments throughout. He honorably and proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1979 to 1981. Steve was a truck driver and enjoyed traveling all across the United States.

Steve is survived by his sons, Stewart Phillips, Jesse (Tristan) Albrecht; grandchildren, Nicole Phillips, Noah Fleming, Skyler Murphy, Dakota Albrecht, Jesse Albrecht Jr., Kaleb Albrecht, Anthony Jarvis; great grandchildren, Aryana Rose, Maverick; brothers, Dennis "Chris" (Bona) Phillips, Mark Phillips and sister, Jacqui Mcneil. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Steve loved riding his Harley, the open road is where he could be found. He enjoyed sports, playing on a work softball league kept him active through his later years. He had a passion for music, playing the drums was his specialty. He loved his cat and dog, and always made sure they had the best care. His sense of humor was unmatched. His friends and family will always remember that he had the ability to make others laugh whenever he had the chance.

There will be a celebration of life on Thursday, January 6, 2022 from 1:00 - 3:00pm at the American Legion Post 298 located at 228 N. 20th St, Springfield MI.
