Obituary for Sue Ellen Milleson (Sanders)

Sue Ellen (Sanders) Milleson, 82, of Battle Creek, MI, passed away at home surrounded by her loving family, after a courageous battle with cancer. Sue was born on May 29, 1935 in Lansing, MI, the daughter of the late Keith and Neva (Dunn) Sanders. After graduation from Lansing Eastern High School, Sue moved to Battle Creek, where she raised her family, and worked for many years at Lakeview General Hospital in medical records.

A longtime member of the Inland Lakes Garden Club, Sue loved gardening and was a talented floral arranger. She especially enjoyed her friends from the OutREDgeous Red Hat Club. Sue and her husband Richard were members of the Great Lakes GMC Motor Home Club, and spent many happy years traveling in their motor home.

Sue was deeply loved and had a true zest for life. She always loved a good party, and brought joy and happiness wherever she went. Sue will be remembered for her warm heart, kind smile and wonderful sense of humor. She was a gracious friend to many and she enriched the lives of those that knew her. As a member of the Lakeside Baptist Church, Sue was an active volunteer for many events. She also volunteered for the American Cancer Society and loved visiting residents at local nursing homes. Recently, she attended Chapel Hill United Methodist Church.

In addition to her husband Richard, she is survived by her four loving children, Jeff Bobrofsky (Mary); Julie Bobrofsky (Jay); Lori Trainer (Silvio); and Lisa VanDyk (Al); her stepchildren, Brad Milleson (Venus); Bonnie Heppard and Bernice Zenow; aunt, Lois Sanders Barden, brother, David Sanders and sisters, Carolyn Sanders, Mary Raymond and Melinda Carley. Sue was also blessed with thirteen grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Along with her parents, Sue was predeceased by her brothers, Larry and James Sanders.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, February 11 from 3:00-6:00 pm at Baxter Funeral and Cremation Service, 375 W. Dickman Road, Battle Creek.
A celebration of Sue's life will be on Monday, February 12 at 11:00 am at Baxter's.
