Susan Rae Cross, 71, of Battle Creek, MI, came to rest on February 8, 2020 at Bronson Methodist Hospital. She was born on January 19, 1949; the daughter of Raymond and Patricia (Koopman) Busman, Sue graduated from Battle Creek Central and then continued to Wrights Beauty Academy. She worked for many years and also owned First Lady Beauty Salon. Sue married the love of her life, Harvey Cross, and they were married for 31 years until he passed in 2000.
Sue is survived by her 4 daughters Kathryn Cross, Kelly Cross, Kylie Cross, and Kandice Cross; Thirteen Grandchildren, Krystal, Dewond, Denesha, Tyler, Kelsey, Delgotti, Keelen, Kaiden, Kyler, Deovhonie, Valentino, Jayven, Amariona; Five Great-Grandchildren; and Three sisters, Sandee Mccowan, Vicki Allen, Patti Allan. Special loving mention is made to Jessica Wesner and many others that loved her like a mother. Sue was very family oriented; she loved spending time with her daughters, grandchildren, family and friends. She shared her love for horses with her daughters and was involved with their 4-H horse shows. She enjoyed catering at the Kellogg Arena, camping, traveling, and going to the casino.
Sue was preceded in death by her mother and father, Husband, Harvey Daniel Cross, and other loved ones. Susan was a comforting presence and would assure anyone looking to her for support that “It is going to be okay.” She will be forever missed.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Baxter Funeral & Cremation on Friday, February 14, 2020 starting at 3:00 pm.
