Obituary for Thomas Howard Walsh

Thomas Howard Walsh, 86, of Battle Creek, Michigan, passed away on Monday, April 22, 2024 at Reflections Memory Care. He was born on June 20, 1937, the son of George Walsh and Ann (McAllister) Walsh.

Tom graduated from Battle Creek Central High School. Shortly after high school, Tom served in the United States Air Force for 6 years. He was a retired union tin knocker in Battle Creek and made many signs for local restaurants. Tom was a Harley and classic car enthusiast, owning his first Harley at the age of 14. He participated in several Michigan car shows winning awards and trophies for his 1950 Mercury baby blue chop top. If you couldn't find Tom at car or bike shows, he could be found at Speeds Coffee Shop, Ritzee or the Clock Restaurant enjoying a cup of coffee with friends.

Tom is survived by his nieces, Nancy (Wayne) Hoard, Sandy Lesser; nephew, Michael Rettman; great nieces, Tracy (Nick), Laura; great nephew, Brian (Brenda); several great, great great nieces and nephews and great great great niece, Kaylee who spent every Sunday for the past few months with Uncle Tommy coloring, having lunch and making memories. He was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents who raised him, James and Lula Walsh; and sister, Peggie (Walsh) Lamson.

The family would like to express a sincere thank you to Urbandale Speeds Family for years of love and conversation for Uncle Tommy, Reflections Memory Care for their love and support through this difficult process and Gentiva Hospice Care and Sarah Barry RN for the care they provided until the very end. Uncle Tommy will forever live on in our hearts and through his restored cars and bikes and for the love of his family.

Per Uncle Tommy's request, cremation has taken place and no services are being held.

Interment will take place at the family plot at Hicks Cemetery in Battle Creek, MI.
