Obituary for Timothy James Clair

Timothy James Clair, 65, of Battle Creek died on October 25, 2019, at Advantage Health Care in Battle Creek. Tim was born August 5, 1954, the oldest of three children to James and Virginia Clair. He graduated in 1972 from Pennfield High School. He worked for over 45 years in the family business, Clair’s Tuxedo. He also worked for Fetter’s Formal Wear in St. Joseph, MI.

Tim married the former Gail Koon, and her son, Aaron. They were married for many years. He is survived by his brother, Jim Clair, of Battle Creek; brother-in-law, Jim (Onie) Swanson of Houston, TX; nieces, Renee` (Trent) Larm of Colorado Springs, CO, Morgyn (Eric) and McKenzie Clair, both of Odessa, FL; nephews Timothy (Laura) and Taylor (Kayla) Swanson, both of Houston, TX and four great nephews and nieces. He is also survived by special friends Nick Bussick of Battle Creek and Nancy Cain of South Haven. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jim and Ginny Clair and a sister, Cindy Swanson.

Tim enjoyed skiing, especially in Colorado. He had many friends and was always there for a friend in need. He was known for his great sense of humor and his quick wit.

In accordance with Tim’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life will take place on Sunday, November 10, from 1:00-4:00 pm, at the Lakeview Lounge, 642 Capital Ave. SW, Battle Creek, MI. Memorial contributions in Tim’s name may be made to Haven of Rest.
