Timothy Richard Gunning Sr., 76, of Battle Creek, Michigan, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, November 17, 2015 at Borgess Medical Center. He was born on March 22, 1939, the son of the late Richard Weston Gunning and Bertha Bell (Wiest) Gunning.
Tim attended Lakeview High School and was the owner of Top-Kut Meat in Battle Creek. He served on the Calhoun County Commission and served in the US Marine Reserves.
Tim is survived by his Wife of 4 years: Phyllis (Sawdy) Gunning of Battle Creek, MI; Sons: Tim (Julie) Gunning Jr. of Battle Creek, MI and Troy Gunning of Battle Creek, MI; Grandchildren: Timothy N. Gunning of Houghton, NY, Josh Gunning of Battle Creek, MI, Patricia Gunning of Ft. Walton Beach, FL, Sarah Gunning of Battle Creek, Alyssa Belland of Battle Creek, MI and Trey Gunning of Battle Creek, MI; Great Grandchildren: Weston, Joysa and Aivah; Brothers: Tom Gunning and Chuck Gunning; Sister: Kay (Ted) Kurnat.
Tim enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He was a former member of the Family Altar Chapel where he served as head of the music ministry. He then attended First Wesleyan Church where he served on the Connections Team.
Visitation will be held at the Baxter Funeral & Cremation Service, 375 W. Dickman Road, on Sunday November 22, 2015 from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm.
A funeral service will be held at the Baxter Funeral & Cremation Service, 375 W. Dickman Road, on Monday, November 23, 2015 at 11:00 am.
A luncheon to follow after service at Family Altar Chapel, 14844 6 1/2 Mile Road, Battle Creek, Michigan
