Obituary for William Lee Hampton Jr.

William Lee “HAMP” Hampton Jr., 53, of Battle Creek, MI, passed away on Thursday, February 25, 2021 at Glenn Arbor Hospice Residence. He was born at Community Hospital in Battle Creek, MI on April 15, 1967 to William and Carolyn Hampton Sr.
William leaves to cherish his memory his loving parents: William Lee Hampton Sr. and Carolyn (Kennedy) Hampton of Battle Creek MI; children: Maurice Lamar (Cidelia China) Hubbard, Orlando, FL; Glenn Lamar (Sherell) Hubbard, Orlando, FL; Parresse Dupree Hampton, Denver, CO; William Lee Hampton III, Orlando, FL; Shanequa Jana’ (David) Kemp, Battle Creek, MI; Tanequa Shana’ (Tyler) Hampton, Battle Creek, MI; and bonus daughter, Ayana Kai (Pernell) Parker, Nashville TN; 7 grandchildren; sister, Jacquie S. Holmes, Battle Creek, MI and brother, Anthony (Tabatha) Hampton, Lawton, MI. William was united in love with his best friend Pamela Hampton, Orlando, FL; a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and many loving friends; including special friends: Terry Richardson, Jesse Potter, Noel Kelly, James Patterson, Gary McKinley, Michael McLiechey, DaWan Smith and John Ramon.
Growing up in Battle Creek and attending Battle Creek Public Schools, William made many lifelong bonds and loved his Orchard Park family. He also loved listening to music, collecting electronics and figurines, cooking, watching movies, fishing with his brother, cutting hair and making people laugh. With his quick wit and unique sense of humor, his family and friends always knew they could count on him for a good laugh and a smile on their faces whenever he was around. He especially loved spreading unconditional love to all his family and friends. William was a kind and gentle soul and will be greatly missed by those too numerous to count.
Please visit with family and friends on Saturday, March 6, 2021 from 10AM-12PM ET at Baxter Funeral Home, 375 W. Dickman Rd., Battle Creek, MI, (269) 788-9800. Due to current Covid-19 guidelines and restrictions, only 25 persons will be allowed at a time for visitation; a private family only service will be live streamed via the Baxter Funeral Home website at 12PM ET. Interment will be at Oak Hill Cemetery, Battle Creek, MI immediately following the family service.
