Obituary for William R. Woodard

William Ross Woodard, 76, the son of Ervin and Louise (O’Brien) Woodard passed away unexpectedly on July 29, 2021. He was born in Glendale, Kentucky November 19th, 1944. He moved to Battle Creek at the age of three and started school at the age of four. He was the oldest of five children. He married the love of his life, Marjorie Stanton in 1963. They had five children, William Ross (Teri) Woodard, Roxanna (Terry) Graham, Kevin Scott (Christy) Woodard, Shannon (Michelle) Woodard and Heidy Melville (Steve Lang). Ross had 20 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren.

Ross was an auctioneer for many years and was best known for doing food auctions at twenty-four different locations statewide where he made a lot of friends. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and just being in the great outdoors, and loved to cut wood with his grandsons.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and brother, Ervin Alan Woodard. Ross was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Mary Jane Livingston and brothers, Gary Lee Woodard and Walter Duane ‘Rip’ Woodard.

In accordance with William’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a family memorial service is being planned at a later date.
