Adell Kendrix, 71, of Battle Creek, Michigan, passed away on Wednesday, October 21, 2020 at Beaumont Hospital, Taylor Michigan after a lengthy illness. He was born in Litroe, Louisiana on November 21, 1948, the son of Ike and Florence Will Kendrix.

Adell graduated from East Side High School in Farmerville, Louisiana in 1966 and eventually he joined the Armed Forces. He honorably served in the United States Marines during the Vietnam War and was always a proud Marine. He also worked for the United States Postal Service for many years before moving to Battle Creek, Michigan in 1987 to live with his sister, Betty Tuggle.

Though Adell loved his alone time, he also enjoyed spending time with his family and friends joking around, talking about sports and about growing up in the South. He enjoyed reading, listening to jazz, playing the lottery and watching sports with the Oakland Raiders, New Orleans Saints, San Francisco 49ers, LA Lakers, Golden State Warriors and the University of Michigan being his favorite teams. When Adell began dealing with health issues, his sister, Betty, lovingly took on the responsibility of making sure he was properly cared for until his passing.

Adell is survived by his wife, Jeannetta Kendrix of Texas, son: Adell (Melissa) Kendrix, Jr. Fort Sill, OK, daughters: Leslie (Antwone) Smith, Junction City, LA, Makisha Kendrix, Oakland, CA, eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, brothers: Jewel (Evor) Kendrix, Fort Worth.
