Obituary for Annie Bell Gibson

Annie Bell  Gibson
Annie Bell Gibson, 80, of Battle Creek, Michigan, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, August 10, 2016 at Bronson Battle Creek. She was born on March 8, 1936, the daughter of Richmond Williams and Lorraine (Fletcher) Williams.
Annie was born in Cottonton, Alabama until her family came to Battle Creek, MI in 1938. Annie attended Battle Creek public schools. She worked in the downtown Battle Creek bakery for many years during the 50's and 60's. She belonged to the International Free and Accepted Modern Masons inc. and Order of the Eastern Star Cynthia B. Strong of Battle Creek. Annie's church home was First Salem Baptist Church, where she served in the choir, on the mothers board, and the kitchen committee.
Annie is survived by her sister, Beatrice Carson; two sons, Toney Z Freeman, and Harry D (Takesha) Gibson; daughter, Joanne M Freeman; six grandchildren, Ja'Shon Cheeks, Joshayla Gibson, Ja'Maria Nabors, Lirisa Gibson, Christopher Gibson, and Eva Gibson; two great grandchildren, Ja'Airra Cheeks and Ja'Vion Cheeks and a host of other loving friends and family. She was preceded in death by her husband of 33 years, Harry H. Gibson in 2004, father, Richmond Williams, Sr., mother, Lorraine Williams, brothers, Rosevelt (Gertrude) Williams, Calvin Williams, Richmond (Pauline) Williams, Jr., sisters, Bonnie Mae Broadnax and Idella Carson.
Annie had a passion for singing and cooking. She loved to sing while going about her daily routines and in her church. She adored her family and spending her time with them, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Annie had a heart of gold and would go out of her way to help people. She was a beautiful woman and she will be missed dearly by all the lives she touched.
