Elizabeth Louise Ellison, 75, of Battle Creek, Michigan, died on Friday, August 28, 2015 at Bronson at Home Hospice Residence. She was born on December 21, 1939, the daughter of Myles McKeown and Alva (Clines) McKeown.
Betty graduated from Kellogg School. She worked at Baxter Pharmacy, Augusta Lumber with her first husband, the Marathon Gas Station, and as a lunch lady for Galesburg-Augusta Schools. She married the late Harry L. Shirley in 1959 until his passing in 1981. They had two sons. She later married the late Robert O. Ellison in 1991 in Puryear, TN until his passing in 2014.
Betty is survived by her two Sons, David (Rhonda) Shirley of Augusta, MI and Tom (Amy) Shirley of Battle Creek, MI; Grandchildren, Branden, Kristen, Kaysey, and Brandon; Brother, John (Phyllis) McKeown of Parchment, MI; Sister, Martha Blake of Fairbanks, AK; Step-Daughters, Kathy, Pat, and Barbara and a host of other loving family and friends. She was preceded in death by her Parents, and Brothers, Jim, Bill, and Mike McKeown.
Betty lived to play Bingo. She also enjoyed winning at the Casino, watching her grandkids play sports but more than anything she loved spending time with her family. She was a devoted mother, and grandmother and cherished every moment she could with them. Betty left a legacy of love and memories and will forever be missed.
Visitation will be held at the Baxter Funeral & Cremation Service, 375 W. Dickman Road, on Thursday September 3, 2015 from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
A memorial service will be held at the Augusta Cemetery, on the corner of W. Jefferson Street and N. Lincoln Street, on Friday, September 4, 2015, 2:00 pm with Pastor James Codde of Bronson at Home Hospice Residence officiating.
Interment will take place in Augusta Cemetery.
