Betty Jean  Maxson (Cushing)
Betty Jean Maxson, 83, of Battle Creek, Michigan, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, February 21, 2018 at Bronson Battle Creek. She was born on April 17, 1934, the daughter of Edwin Stanley Cushing and Eugena May (Sherman) Cushing.
Betty was a 1953 graduate of Battle Creek Central High School. She was a loving mother and homemaker when her children were young and then was a cook at the North Avenue Children's Center until retiring.
Betty is survived by her Daughters, Cathy (Tim) Schmitt of Kalamazoo, MI, Schelle (Rick) Luzius of Battle Creek, MI; Sons, Scott (Ann) Maxson of Las Vegas, NV, Mark Maxson of Battle Creek, MI; Grandchildren, Stephanie (Chris) David, Chad Schmitt, Sean Schmitt and Emily Luzius; Great Grandson, Ezekiel David; Sisters, Janet Moody, Carole Pennock and Diane (Ralph) Cates. She was preceded in death by her Parents, her Husband, Gaylord Lynn Maxson and Son, Michael Maxson.
Betty enjoyed crafts, cooking, was an avid baseball fan, going to church camp meetings and loved spending time with her family. She was a member of North Avenue Church of God.
Visitation will be held at the Baxter Funeral & Cremation Service, 375 W. Dickman Road, on Sunday February 25, 2018 from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm.
A funeral service will be held at the North Avenue Church of God, 1079 North Avenue, on Monday, February 26, 2018 at 11:00 am with Rev. Jeffrey L. Eckman of North Avenue Church of God officiating.
Interment will take place in the Floral Lawn Memorial Gardens.
Memorials may be made to: St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
