Bruce  Melford  Rohrer
Bruce Melford Rohrer, 68, of Battle Creek, Michigan, passed away on Friday, May 8, 2015 at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born on September 23, 1946, the son of James Louis Rohrer and Priscilla Dorothy (DeWard) Rohrer.
Bruce graduated from Loy Norrix High School with his high school sweetheart. He joined the U.S Air Force in August 1967 and fought in the Vietnam War. He was a Master Sergeant and worked as an aircraft maintenance technician. After his time in the military he worked at the Battle Creek Federal Center until his retirement in 2014.
Bruce is survived by his high school sweetheart and wife of 12 years - Susan (Pilgrim) Rohrer; son: Scott (Nicole) Long; daughter: Stacy (Robert) Lint; two brothers: James (Thelma) Rohrer and Robert (Shirley) Rohrer; sister: Dorothy Hartman; grandchildren: Samantha, Marissa, Trevor, Brad, Milissa, Whitley and a great-grandchild, William. He was preceded in death by his parents, grandchildren: Aaron and Emily; brother-in-laws: Michael Simmons and Richard Hartman.
Bruce enjoyed going out antiquing. He loved to be in the garden and can fresh foods. He was an excellent cook. Bruce was a family man with a big heart for his grandchildren. In his younger years he enjoyed camping and fishing.
A memorial service will be held at a later date in Oregon.
Memorial tributes may be made to the Wounded Warriors Program or Vietnam Veterans of America.
