Charles Claflin  Hawley
Charles Claflin Hawley 33 of Battle Creek, Michigan passed away on Saturday, November 1, 2014 at home surrounded by loving family and friends. He was born on March 31, 1981 the son of Juan De Jesus Toledo and Jolene Kay (Hawley) Lybrand.
Charles worked in construction but he loved doing mechanics and working on cars. He was wonderful at installing audio equipment. He was passionate about muscle cars and motorcycles. He loved to go fast and speed off into the distance.
Charles is survived by his Wife of 3 years - Tabatha (Rohror) Hawley of Battle Creek, Michigan; Two Sons, Charles Hawley II, Dominic Hawley; Three Brothers, Johnny Toledo, Adam Toledo and Anthony Oostindie; Three Sisters, Carlena Toledo, Martha (Jorge) Toledo-Estrella and Ashlie Toledo; Four Nieces, Taliea Toledo, Joszlen Toledo, Andrea Toledo and Alissa Toledo; Three Nephews, Filiberto Toledo, Ivan Estrella and Adam Toledo Jr; Two Aunts, Leslie Deutscher and Bonnie Moore; Uncle, Wayne Hawley; Step-Father, Bruce Lybrand; Step-Sister, Carrie Dalton; Step-Brother, Thomas Lybrand and Mama Gloria. He was preceded in death by his Father, Uncle Bill Hawley, Grandmother Maebell Hawley and Grandfather H. Henry Hawley.
Charlie was passionate about music and loved to rattle the windows. He loved fishing and would do it every spare moment he had. He loved to be outdoors and was a fun loving spirit. He preached respect for others, especially his elders. Charlie was a family man and loved his kids. They were his whole world. He doted on his entire family and all of his friends. His posse SSWB was a huge part of his life and a rock during hard times. He was extremely close to his mother and was a mama’s boy. Charlie was an impressive dresser and was big on his clothing. He was almost always wearing red, it was his favorite color.
A celebratory dinner will be held Saturday October 8th at 21 Forest Street, Battle Creek, MI. There will be memorial shirts available for order.
Memorial tributes may be made directly to the family and contributions for his service may be taken to Baxter Funeral & Cremation Service.
