Obituary for Charlyne Mary Rosier

Charlyne Mary Rosier
Charlyne Mary Rosier, 79, of Battle Creek, Michigan, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, December 11, 2016, at Select Specialty Hospital of Battle Creek. She was born on April 13, 1937, the daughter of Charles and Mary (Simmons) Fontroy.
Charlyne graduated from Philadelphia Public Schools. After high school, she attended Temple University in Philadelphia. From there she met the love of her life, whom she married in 1962 and began her family. In 1971 they moved to Ohio and later to Battle Creek, MI in 1986. She and her husband were members of the New Hope Church of God in Christ for 25 years, where she was the head mother. She was a wonderful woman and she gave toys to the children of her community to ensure they had a blessed and Merry Christmas. She also did volunteer work for several organizations including the Salvation Army for many years.
Charlyne is survived by her husband of 57 years - Samuel Rosier; sons, Derek Rosier, Samuel Michael Rosier, Steven Rosier, and Charles (Lori) Rosier; daughters, Somone (Nicholas) Wilkinson, and Katrina Rosier; 15 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; brothers, Dennis (Sandra) Fontroy, Delton (Sheila) Fontroy, Tyrone (Brenda) Fontroy, and Gary (Gwen) Fontroy; sister, Vanessa (Joel) Vernon; special friends, Gloria Hester, Mildred, Betty Smith, Claire Daniels, Johana Jones and a host of nieces, nephews, friends, and other loving family. She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter, Shelly Rosier, brothers, Lamonte and Jay Fontroy.
Charlyne loved shopping, traveling with her family, watching her favorite t.v. shows, and completing puzzle books. She had a passion for people and she could talk to anyone; she never met a stranger. She enjoyed phone calls and going to Centra Care and spending time with the residents there. Charlyne loved to gather her family and friends, especially for the holidays. She took alot of pride in her family and loved going to all the colleges that her children attended. She had a heart of gold and she will be sorely missed by all those who knew her.
