Clark "Cork" Ray Johnson, 77, of Sherwood, Michigan, passed away on Tuesday, February 17, 2015 at home surrounded by loved ones. He was born on March 28, 1937, the son of Arthur Johnson and Esther Berneice (Best) Johnson.
Cork attended Battle Creek Central High School, served in the U.S. Army and was a hard working construction laborer until his retirement in 1996.
Cork is survived by his wife Sandra Dean (Roller) Johnson of Sherwood, Michigan; six sons, Matthew Johnson, Alan (Tonya) Mayo, Randy (Kris) Wendland, Charles Hyatt, Dave (Barbara) Hyatt, and Dan Hyatt; three daughters, Kelli (Matt) Stapleton, Jacky (Alan) Burns, and Lisa Hyatt; 12 Grandchildren and a brother, Doug (Sharon) Johnson. He was preceded in death by his Parents, sisters, Sally Pontins, Melanie Crumpton, and Judy Arriaga; brother, Rodger Johnson.
A self proclaimed poet, lover of the outdoors and a pizza aficionado, Cork lived a colorful life. In his younger years (and not so younger) days Cork enjoyed motorcycles, canoeing, hunting, fishing, and mushroomin'. His friends and loved ones span decades and we hope you all will join us this Saturday, February 21, 2015 for a final tribute to our beloved friend, father and husband. The location is the VFW in Athens, MI from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm.
