E>J> visit to South Texas

Although we live in South Texas, we never did visit Aunt Vicky and Uncle E.J. in Michigan. However, we did visit on the phone quite often. We are saddened by his passing and our deepest condolences go out to his family. I will share something with the family though. My Aunt Vicky and Uncle E.J. came to South Texas a couple of years back. I know it was during the winter months. E.J. was surprised to see no snow in South Texas. We all laughed and told him, it never snows here, maybe every 100 years we may get 2 inches of snow. I also drove him to South Padre Island so he could see our beautiful island and the Gulf of Mexico. Remember this is winter time in South Texas, he took off his shoes and got his feet wet in the water. I told him, "what are you doing Uncle E.J. getting your feet wet in the water, it is cold. He replied, " No this is not cold at all, and I can at least say, I got to see the Gulf of Mexico and got my feet wet there." I will always remember his happy face as he was walking up & down the beach wetting his feet. Great memory of Uncle E.J.I will treasure.
