Obituary for Flossie Weever

Flossie Weever
Flossie Weever, 96, of Battle Creek, Michigan, passed away on Wednesday, February 15, 2017 at Pennfield Premier Living. She was born on September 19, 1920, the daughter of Earl C Wilson and Nellie (Burrell) Wilson.
Flossie grew up in South Carolina and graduated high school. In 1943 she married her beloved husband and father of her children, Lawrence Weever. They were both members of the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Battle Creek. While she didn't have a church home she always kept her faith and enjoyed reading the word. Flossie and Lawrence loved riding Harley Davidson Motorcycles. After her husbands retirement they got an RV and loved to travel all over the United States until his passing in 1998. Flossie loved people and her door was always open. In fact you couldn't get out of the house without eating a full meal first. In their younger years they enjoyed dancing at the St. Mary's Lake dance club. They also loved to go camping with the family. Later in her years, she married her second husband, Leroy Christopher. Their marriage was short but filled with nothing but love and support for one another. Her family was her world and she adored spending all of her time with them. Her memories will be cherished by all the lives she touched through her years.
Flossie is survived by her Daughter, Lynne Edwards; three Grandchildren, Jamie Edwards, Alexis Edwards, Autumn Edwards; two Great-Grandchildren, Jaleal Edwards, Melvin Roy Edwards, III; Sister, Leila Wescott; six nieces and six nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, first husband and father of her children, Lawrence Weever, grandson, Melvin Edwards, Jr., son-in-law, Melvin Edwards, Sr., brother, Fred Wilson, sister, Ruth Hendershot, and her second husband, Newton "Leroy" Christopher.
A memorial service was held at the Baxter Funeral & Cremation Service, 375 W. Dickman Road, on Monday, February 20, 2017, at 2:00 p.m. with Dr. Ralph Cates of Victory Life Church officiating.
Interment will take place in Floral Lawn Memorial Gardens.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
