Gary Lynn Jackson, 65, of Battle Creek, Michigan, passed away after an 8 year long courageous battle with cancer on Wednesday, November 1, 2017 at Glenn Arbor Hospice Residence. He was born on June 25, 1952, the son of Theron "Jay" Jackson and June A. (Wurtz) Jackson.
Gary was a 1970 graduate of Grand Blanc High School and attended Albion College. He was formerly a realtor in Ohio and Michigan. He then was employed by Alltel and Climax Telephone as the Vice President of Operations. Gary was also a Former City Counselman in Albion MI.
Gary is survived by his Wife and caregiver of 11 years - Susan (Hodge) Jackson of Battle Creek, Michigan; Daughter, Erykah Jackson-a freshman at Armstrong State University of Savannah, GA; Mother, June Jackson of Tawas City, MI; Sister, Sharrel (Dan) Coulter of San Antonio, TX; three Brothers, Garth (Susan) Jackson of Plymouth, MI, Kevin (Sarah) Jackson of OR, and Robert (Theresa) Jackson of Perrysburg, OH; His wife's immediate and extended family and a host of nieces, nephews, friends and other loving family. He was preceded in death by his Father, "Jay" Jackson.
Gary enjoyed camping, cooking, and golf. He adored his family and spending time with them. He loved to talk politics and listen to National Public Radio. Gary was a very spiritual person and enjoyed meditation and staying grounded. His love and sense of humor will be missed most by those he leaves behind.
