Genevieve Blanche (Knapper) Hind, 91, of Battle Creek, MI, went from the loving arms of her family to the loving arms of Jesus on Sunday, March 13, 2011 at the Lifespan Good Samaritan Hospice Residence. She was born February 1, 1920, the daughter of Samuel Norman Knapper and Vera Blanche (Trine) Knapper.
Genevieve graduated from Kellogg Agricultural High School and attended the Sherwood Music School in Chicago, IL and graduated from Argubrite Business College in Battle Creek. She retired in 1985 from Kraft Foods after 33 years.
Genevieve is survived by Daughters: Sherrill Ann (Robert) Ruch of Battle Creek, MI, Peggy Lou Fuller of East LeRoy, MI and Gloria Rae (Thurman) Williams of Dowling, MI; 13 Granchildren and 24 Great Grandchildren; Sister: Geraldine (Edward) Masterka of Caledonia, MI; Brothers: Thomas (Maurine) Knapper of BC, MI and Gerald Knapper of Battle Creek, MI.
She is preceded in death by her Parents; her Son: Robert Paul Hind Jr.; Daughter: Rosalind Kay Smith and Brothers: Gordon Knapper, Duane Knapper and William Knapper.
Genevieve enjoyed crossword puzzles, scrabble and loved camping , especially in Manistee. She was an avid reader, accomplished piano player and taught sunday school for many years.
Visitation will be held at the Baxter Funeral & Cremation Service, 375 W. Dickman Road, on Wednesday, March 16, 2011, 2-4 & 6-8 PM.
A funeral service will be held at the Baxter Funeral & Cremation Service on Thursday, March 17, 2011 at 11 AM with Pastor Aaron Sommers and Rev. James Codde officiating.
Interment will be at Bedford Cemetery, Bedford, MI.
Memorial tributes may be made to the Lifespan Good Samaritan Hospice.
