George Andrew Johnson, 75, of Battle Creek, Michigan, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, March 17, 2016 at his home. He was born on March 24, 1940, the son of Clyde Johnson and Hannah Grace (Wiegand) Reamer.
George served in the US Army from 1957 to 1960. He served in France in the signal corp. and was later employed at Eaton Corp. for over 20 years.
George is survived by his Wife of 44 years: Nancy Ann (Chastain) Johnson of Battle Creek, MI; Daughters: Tracy Johnson of Battle Creek, MI and Stacy Hayes of Battle Creek, MI; Son: David (Sara) Johnson of Union City, MI; Grandchildren: Adam, Brandon (Katie), Andrew, Gracie and Joey; Great Grandchildren: Paislee and Brogan; a host of nieces and nephews; His Special Girls: Jayda, Tamira and Mikaya Downer; Sister: Martha (William) Pituch of Ohio and Brother: Clyde (Dora) Johnson II of Union City, MI. He was preceded in death by his Parents; his Brothers: Donald Johnson, Jack Ward and Richard Johnson; Sisters: Betty Hoffman and Mary Morgan.
George was a giving man, known for helping others. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, working on cars, fixing things and loved spending time with his wife, his family and his friends. He was a member of Resurrection Power Ministries where he served as an elder, usher, maintenance man and was very committed to his church.
